I totally used the Paper Smooches Guest Designer Search as a reason to get this new Uplifters stamp set from Paper Smooches. What fun sentiments! I'm not gonna lie, I can't wait to use the "You're kick ass" sentiment! Or the "you are my Favorite," that's a running joke with me and my girlfriends. I may also have to make my hubby a set using the "you were Right," how funny would that be to deliver a stack of those cards for him to use when the future need arises.
I had this 6x6 Fancy Pants Office Suite paper pad out on my table that I scored from Tuesday Morning for $1.99. I had planned to submit a card for the Color Throwdown Challenge which was a black and white theme so I had this pattern on the brain. After I heat embossed the sentiment from my new Paper Smooches Uplifters stamp set on watercolor stock, I wanted to somehow "highlight" the "Awesome". Although the black and white paper was very bold, I thought it actually helped focus on the sentiment with the pop of bright yellow and the "v's" of the pattern pointing to the sentiment.
I used Dr. Ph. Martin's Bombay Golden Yellow India Ink to highlight the "Awesome". I let it dry between coats to get a few brush strokes in the ink. The sentiment is actually foam mounted on the inside of a 110# Neenah card base and a basic rectangle in the card front helps frame it. A Sizzix frame die adds a fun border and the outline from the black stock helps it pop off the white base.
I used a Lawn Fawn stitched frame die to cut yellow tone on tone pokadot paper to 4x6. Some black enamel dots help finish it off. Thanks so much for visiting my blog today!
